Server Rules Updated + Towny Siege Launch

We’ve made some important updates to our server rules! Here’s a summary:

- General Rules: reorganized and clarified chat rules, advertising, /nick abuse, impersonation, bug/exploit reporting, punishment evasion, and NSFW content.

- SMP Rules: PvP, shop activity, and building etiquette rules are now in their own section.

- Skyblock Rules: limits on alt accounts, griefing/stealing, and island farming rules clarified.

- Towny Rules: new rules for town spacing, claim blocking, mayor/town governance, plot evictions, account limits, and claim boosting.

️ Server Rules Update – Change Log

Hey everyone! We’ve added and clarified some rules to keep the server fair, fun, and running smoothly. Please read carefully:

New & Updated Rules:

• Shop Spacing & Expansion:

  • Your shop must be at least 6–7 blocks away from the furthest point of any other shop, and 3–5 blocks away from the nearest main dirt path.

  • As the shopping district continues to grow, please don’t build houses right next to the shopping area. They may need to be moved under eminent domain if space runs out.

• No Forced Chunk Loading:

  • Players may not keep chunks loaded when not present, including through nether portal methods or any other known tricks.

• No Trapping Players:

  • You cannot intentionally trap players inside your claim, shop, base, or anywhere else for any reason.

These updates help keep the server fair and prevent issues as our community grows. Thank you for reading and following the rules! ️

 We’ve got several exciting updates to share, and we’re thrilled to announce them with you all! 

1️⃣ SMP Server Update:

We’ve officially updated the SMP server to version 1.21.6!

Even better — you can now join the server using any version from 1.8.9 to 1.21.6 on Java, or the latest version of Bedrock.

However, for the best experience, we highly recommend joining on the latest version: 1.21.6.

2️⃣ Bedrock Player Improvements:

Joining the server just got way easier for our Bedrock players! All you need to do is add “Smoky Peaks” as a friend on Minecraft and join their world — you’ll be taken straight to our hub from there. Simple as that!

3️⃣ New Gamemode in Development:

We’re working on a completely new game mode! While we’re still in the early stages, we’re currently recruiting builders to help bring it to life. If you’re interested in joining the Build Team, please send me a DM!

4️⃣ We Have a Website Now!

How to Appeal a Punishment

If you believe that you have been falsely muted or banned, you can submit an appeal by following these steps as outlined: 

1. Review the rules that apply to your punishment
2. Link your Minecraft account to this website while you create an account. 
3. Fill out an appeal form on the Create an Appeal page if you were banned or muted
4. Wait for a response from our staff team. It is possible to have bans or mute shortened in time, revoked entirely or denied completely. 

Appeals sent in any other way (Private messages on discord, emails, having a friend request it in game will be ignored). It is best to appeal your punishment in a timely manner as lengthy bans mutes are less likely to be overturned. 

If your Permanent ban appeal gets denied you must wait at least 90 days from the creation of your original appeal. If you are listed as "Blacklisted" an appeal is not possible and will be automatically denied.

Submitting a punishment appeal will allow you to upload any additional evidence to help our team with your case/ Due to security precautions we can only view images or videos uploaded from our Authorized Sites.

Can I appeal multiple times?

Yes! However you must wait at least 90 days in between each appeal

Is this modification allowed on the server?
You can find out more about allowed modification at Smoky Peaks Allowed Modifications. If the modification provides any form of advantage over other users, it should not be used on our server.

What if I wasn't the one on my account when it was punished?
Smoky Peak players are responsible for managing their own accounts and personal information. This also means that players are fully responsible for any actions taken on their accounts in the event that they are compromised.
